Gas price drop: 60 days straight
Monday, November 17, 2008
CNN Money -- NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Remember $4 gas? Soon it will be $2 gas.

As the nation's economy worsens, the demand for oil and gas wanes. As a result, prices drop. And drop. And drop.

The price of gas fell overnight Sunday for the 60th consecutive day.

The national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline fell 2 cents to $2.105 a gallon, according to a survey released Sunday by the American Automobile Association.

Hey folks, let's not forget one thing. The price of gasoline (or oil, for that matter) is not a barometer of a Nation's fanancial health. Much as these boneheads would like you to believe. It is certainly an indicator of the result of decisions made by speculators, governmental policies and so forth.

The lowest gas price i've seen here in Houston is $1.63 per gallon of regular gas. I am pretty sure it will go up by about $.20 during the Thanksgiving Holiday.

East TN is still at $1.83. I'd be happy to see $1.60 or below. I conserve as well, but it would be nice to see a lower price.

We all need to keep in mind that this is not permanent, and within the forseeable future it will rise again. Now is the time for us to show some backbone and do the best things to change and conserve and support the drive to implement alternatives to oil/gas.

Yeah, but with no jobs a lot of folks still can't pay for gas. And, the truckers, farmers, ranchers, etc. are still getting ripped off on diesel and it all comes down to the poor ol' working stiff, if even he/she is still working that is.
