Still missing a visit to Newfoundland and the NW Territories. BTW, what is the status of Nunavut? Is it a new territory? Looks like a decent sized settlement in Iqualuit and commercial air service goes there. But why was this area created by the Canadian government? I've been into northern Quebec and northern Ontario - those are extreme wilderness areas, nothing for 100s of miles. I can't imagine how remote Nunavut is.

I've been to BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec. It's a shame that I never made it to the Maritimes or to Atlantic Canada. I've also been to the Yukon Territory and the Northwest Territories, and all this travel has been by car.
Years ago I made it across from the Pacific to Montreal three times by hopping freights and thumbing rides. Riding Via Rail is much easier, and I've done that too.
Bu the way, it is quicker to drive from Vancouver to Montreal than it is to drive from Vancouver to Dawson City, Yukon. Then it's another three days to Inuvik, NWT. Then another half hour by air to Tuktayuktuk if you want to see the Arctic Ocean.
Happy travels!

Getting to St Pierre and Miquelon is at the top of my list. The town looks cute and the idea that you leave Canada and enter France just a one hour boat ride away is intriguing. So technically you can drive to France. . .

When I was in Halifax at Christmas the Lobster men were selling on the road side. Fresh live lobster was $5- $6 per pound. I had a lovely 2 1/4 pound lobster for $14. When we are down this summer I will be looking for lobster rolls, even McDonalds has sold them in previous years. I have not made it to the Territories yet, but have been to all the provinces.

I'm a Vancouverite that was just in PEI. Loved it of course.
Note that you pay $42.50 for the bridge only on the way to the mainland, not on the way back.
Lobster is expensive...very, even there. If you ask around, you might find where the guys who sell it out of the back of their truck are located. I've heard a price like $21 for 4 small COOKED lobsters. Unfortunately, I heard about this on the way to the airport. BTW, their airport has 1 gate.
The best lobster supper [look this up on ] is the one at North Rustico. They have an extremely long buffet table. Because the supper at New Glasgow is strictly sitdown, I'd do North Rustico for more choice. Go early in the evening to avoid lineups. Price including tax, with lobster, is about $34. Without lobster, but with lots of other great stuff, about $22.
Next week, the REGIS AND KELLY show will be broadcasting from PEI. Reserve your accommodations ahead.
The Island may never be the same after Americans are given Regis' endorsement of it. Now it will be a status thing for them to go to the island that Regis went to.
Oh, and I've been to every province and territory except Nunavut. The most interesting thing when going to Nfld was to drive down the Burin Peninsula to the town of Fortune to take the ferry to the French territory of St Pierre & Miquelon. They speak French french, have gendarmes on the dock etc. Have your passport just in case.

Have visited or traveled through the provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. I live in Alberta.
Newfoundland would be an interesting travel destination. Of course, I understand that there are some fantastic golf courses on Prince Edward Island!

There are a lot of Canadians on this thread that need to see more of Canada. Fortunately we all have one thing in common... we all dislike Toronto. It doesn't matter if you are from Atlantic Canada, Quebec, the Prairies, B.C., or even Northern Ontario we all love to hate Toronto. True Canadian unity!

I live in the States but have been to all the provinces except NewFoundland and NW Territories. Driven across Canada for adventure several times starting as a teenager. Learned French by basicly hanging out in Quebec. Ridden a bicycle all over Quebec, Nova Scotia (the best for biking) and Ontario.

I have been to all the provinces, none of the territories. I have lived in Ontario, Alberta, and Nova Scotia and own land in Alberta and Nova Scotia. We plan to retire to NS in 2013. No it isn't on the shore... if you own land on the shore you are respoNSible for controlling erosion and that can get very expeNSive.
