NYC DOT installed nearly 200 "high-tech" parking sensors along a busy parking corridor a few months ago to see how the devices planted in the road would handle NYC conditions- that is constantly being driven over, stepped on, and beaten up. All this will do is direct scores of drivers to the same empty spot. Only one will get it and the rest will all rush to the next reported empty spot. This group of parking spot searchers could drive around in this throng for months.
