In the 30 day rankings I notice that I am listed at 130. I also have the same number of points as number 6. I wonder what makes those 101 gas buddies better than me.

I found out that the earliest posters are ranked higher, even though they are tied for points.

So far, two people have followed up, but nobody has actually replied.

The actual question seems to be "What is the secondary sort key?" -- i.e., if two or more people are tied on the scoreboard (30-day in this case), then what determines the display order?

I don't have an authoritative answer, myself. My wild guess would be that it's chronological, but I don't care enough to even check whether the data might fit that hypothesis. Other plausible guesses would be "alphabetical" (doubtful; it would have been obvious before now) and "random/unspecified".

Today, in the last 30 days' worth of points I am tied with #390 . At the top of my page I am listed as #1381. Why is #390 listed ahead of me when we have both earned the same number of points in the last 30 days?

I don't see you on the list today but here's my answer to the question:

30-day ranks people only by how many points they have earned only in the past 30 days, not how many they have in total.

If you will look at the list you will see that when the points are the same, only the first name has a ranking number. The others are blank but hold the same rank. Here’s an example:
191 ecjames North Carolina 29,720
192 toadNY Albany, New York 29,710
    NFKen Ontario 29,710
194 always2bnaked Sacramento, California 29,705
    lambs100 Toronto, Ontario 29,705
    korebob905 Los Angeles, California 29,705
    abfpat Illinois 29,705
198 plastic Virginia 29,690

This list has two members tied at 192 and 4 tied at 194.
