This thread is rusty.
Why are gas prices climbing while inventory is going up, demand and the price of crude are dropping?
Could it be the inauguration?

Well, the price limits are a moot issue at this point anyway.

Doesn't appear many of the people here post very much, gas prices or to the topics. The person who created this thread, mycaseydog, has 100 points for joining, 150 points for one gas price post, and 20 points for his only message post - one he started, but never came back to acknowledge anyone's responses.

Most stations limit me to a dollar amount (BP on Washington Blvd is $100) but if you swipe your card again, you can complete your fill up. I have a 35 gallon diesel tank, so no way will $100 fill it.

I think the CC Companies are going to have to change their guidelines. The prices are slowly going down due to people changing their habits, but, we're not going to see prices under $3 a gallon. At least, not for a long while. If you call your CC Company and let them know, I bet the limits will change and reflect the times.

I saw on the news where many were having this problem. Most credit card companies limit the credit card purchase to $75. It used to be less. Fast food places are $20. I can imagine there will be a lot of credit card thefts so that people can go and get the maximum gas on the stolen card. We actually had someone open credit cards in my husbands name and use them for quick purchases. It's a good time to look into getting credit card alerts!

It probably has everything to do with the card. Some card companies limit purchases like gasoline to $75 max. However, I ran into several pumps lile that which stated that but if you need more go ahead and fill it up with a new transaction.
If that is the case at BJ's, they should post it on the pump.

Did you pay by credit card? That happened to my husband. I think it has more to do with the credit card then the gas. The gas station has to pay a certain percentage to the credit card company for every credit purchase.
